In 2002, Yew Chung International School of Silicon Valley opened its doors with a recognized international curriculum that nurtures bilingual, multicultural world citizens prepared to function in the global village of the 21st century. Students learn through their own involvement and action. Our constructivist classrooms are designed to stimulate a quest for knowledge through active inquiry. This active approach to learning will continue throughout the students’ lives.
Our students participate in weekly assemblies where they participate in activities that reinforce the basic universal values accepted by all faiths and creeds. These values taught range from respecting your parents, family, friends, and classmates to respecting the Earth around us. We integrate these concepts into our daily communication with our students, as we represent a diverse variety of nationalities and faiths. Rather than focusing on the differences, we encourage the children to both learn from each other's traditions and customs and use our commonalities to grow together.
Students at YCIS Silicon Valley enjoy lessons in art, music, physical education in addition to the subjects included in the California Educational Framework guidelines.
